New custom-designed roller door for the retail trade

Rats are a real plague to the retail trade. The shops have to stay closed while the rats are being trapped, and also when it is time to clean up after them.

Door System's new roller door DS291 has been developed with an innovative frame solution to ensure optimal sealing at the bottom. When no light escapes, mice and rats will have a harder time finding their way in.

Innovative frame solution

In the design of the brand-new frame solution, the lowermost rubber strip goes down between two specially designed, moulded wedges in the frame leg. The wedges are adjustable and allow the service engineer to adjust the door on site in case the floor has minor imperfections.

For floors with gradual, extensive sloping, we can adjust frame leg and bar during production of the roller door. The door can be designed with an asymmetric bar. It only requires that exact measures be specified when placing the order and before the roller door is put into production.

Less wind sensitive and more robust

The DS291 is much less wind sensitive and more robust thanks to the new frame solution. At the same time, it is less prone to minor touches and less sensitive on collision - and you can still fix the door yourself and get it back in place after a collision.

Optimum safety

Safety has been given high priority on the DS291 roller door. We have developed new photocells which have been placed in the rubber strip at the bottom of the door. They are extremely sensitive and react promptly to any touch. The photocells can be connected via Bluetooth or by means of a spiral cable.

As an option, the photocell barrier can be mounted in the frame leg itself. The photocells are protected by the frame leg and provide extra safety. Light can also be mounted in the frame leg. Green, yellow and red LED light indicates when the door can be passed through.

Equipped with photocells, the door meets the requirements for safety monitoring under the Machinery Directive.

Energy savings and better hygiene

The high rubber strip at the bottom enables a higher closing speed. This means that the door will stay open for a shorter time, which in return results in energy savings.

As an added plus in terms of hygiene, the front plate of the frame leg can be removed to allow you to clean inside the very frame leg.

The DS291 roller door is available in galvanised or stainless steel and comes with Door System’s new door control – read more.

The DS291 is available in widths of up to 2 m and heights of up to 3 m, but with a maximum size of 5 m2 at normal wind load. The door also comes in a similar version in bigger dimensions, DS301 and DS306. DS301 can be supplied in widths of up to 4 m and heights of up to 3.4 m, but with a maximum size of 10 m2 at normal wind load. DS306 can be supplied in widths of up to 4 m and heights of up to 5 m, however not exceeding a total area of 14 m2 at normal wind load

Important characteristics of DS291-DS301-DS306 roller door

Moulded wedges in the DS291 frame

Moulded adjustable wedges

The specially designed moulded wedges at the bottom of the frame leg are adjustable. This will allow the service engineer to fix the door on site in case of minor imperfections in the floor. This ensures that the door shuts tight.

The new frame solution on the DS291 roller door

Less wind sensitive

Thanks to the new frame solution, the DS291 roller door is much less wind sensitive and better at withstanding through draught. It is also more robust and less prone to minor touches – and you can put it back in place yourself after a collision.

Bottom rubber strip with photocells

State-of-the-art photocells

We have developed new photocells which have been placed in the rubber strip at the bottom of the door. They are extremely sensitive and react promptly to any touch. As an option, photocells and light barrier may also be mounted in the frame leg itself.
